Religious Leadership

Many talented learned lay members participate in the services and activities.Temple Bnai Shalom is proud to have the spirtual leadership of Senior Rabbi Milton Feierstein and Associate Rabbi Van Lanckton.

Rabbi Milton Feierstein:

Rabbi Milton Feierstein is a native of Pennsylvania. He earned his BS degree at Columbia University and Ed.M and Ed.D degrees at SUNY Buffalo. He was ordained at the Jewish Theological Seminary in NYC where he was also awarded a Doctor of Divinity degree.

The Rabbi served several congregations in New York prior to coming to Temple B'nai Shalom in 2002, where he holds the position of Senior Rabbi. He is married to Lenore and has three children and eight grandchildren.

He is a member of numerous professional organizations including the Rabbinical Assembly, the Mass. Board of Rabbis, and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. His interests are in spiritual matters and in personal relationships.

 

Rabbi Van Lanckton:

Rabbi Van Lanckton started out his career practicing law in Massachusetts. He worked in both health law and litigation with increasing emphasis on mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolutions. Rabbi Lanckton continues to serve as an arbitrator in the American Arbitration Association.

In 2003, Rabbi Lanckton enrolled as a founding student of the Hebrew College Rabbinical School. He took an early leaadership role there in the student-initiated interfaith dialogue and action group Journeys on the Hill, JOTH. He continues his leadership role there as a full-time Associate Director for Development.

Rabbi Lanckton began his relationship with Temple B'nai Shalom as a student rabbi in 2004. As of July 2009, Rabbi Lanckton is now Temple B'nai Shalom'spart-time Associate Rabbi offering spiritual leadership and guidance to its memebers.

Cantor Seth Grossman:

Cantor Seth Grossman graduated from University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor Science in Business as well as an MBA from Boston College with a concentration in Management. Throughout his college years, he returned to provide cantorial leadership for Temple B'nai Shalom each week throughout the holidays.

Cantor Grossman comes from a distinguished family of cantors. He carries on in his unique style making our services enjoyable from start to finish. He is actively involved in the weekly Religious Education classes of our students and also conducts Bar and Bat Mitzvah education around the shabbat service. He and his wife Jennifer have two children.

We are truly fortunate to have such a wonderful talent at Temple B'nai Shalom.
